About
Hi, I’m Muhammad Subhan — a third-year BS Cybersecurity student at FAST NUCES Islamabad, Pakistan.
I built this blog to document everything I’m learning as I work toward becoming a competitive cybersecurity professional. That means writeups from platforms like OverTheWire Bandit, TryHackMe, and HackTheBox, alongside concept posts connecting what I study to real-world attacks.
What I Post
- CTF Writeups — step by step walkthroughs of challenges I solve on Bandit, TryHackMe, and HackTheBox
- Learning Posts — concepts from courses like Harvard’s CS50 Cybersecurity, explained in plain language with real-world examples
- Security Notes — things I picked up from reading about current breaches and incidents
Background
My coursework covers x86 assembly, C++ systems programming, networking (OSPF/EIGRP/RIPv2 simulations in Cisco Packet Tracer), and web development with Flask. I’m currently working through OverTheWire Bandit and TryHackMe’s Jr Penetration Tester path.
I completed Harvard’s CS50 Introduction to Cybersecurity and did my final project on the Salt Typhoon APT — the Chinese state-sponsored attack on US telecoms disclosed in September 2024.
